“Oh dear...Such a draft...”
Lydia, Luigi's Mansion

Lydia, the Mirror Gazing Mother (Japanese: ママーラ Mamāra) is the second Portrait Ghost that Luigi encounters in the first area of Luigi's Mansion.

Lydia is the wife of Neville and mother of Chauncey, Henry and Orville. She is found in the Master Bedroom at the mansion. When Luigi entered the room, he found the mother doing her hair. Looking to upset Lydia to make her vulnerable, Luigi used his Game Boy Horror to reveal that she didn't like the wind outside. Using his Poltergust 3000, he opened the curtain, letting a draft enter the room. Soon enough, Lydia had to get up and close the curtain, then sit back down and get back to her combing. During that time, she became vulnerable and was captured after some weak pulls on her part, earning Luigi the key to the Nursery.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

Lydia has blue skin and bright, yellow eyes. She has an oval face and short hair that frills up at the ends. She is also dressed very simply, only wearing a pink bath robe with a white lining at the sleeves and the bottom.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Lydia's name may be a reference to Lydia Deetz, a main character in the 1988 film Beetlejuice.
  • Lydia is one of the two portrait ghosts that can be found as sculptures in The Artist's Studio, the other being Biff Atlas.
  • Lydia's Spanish name doesn't make sense, as Linda is not shown to be flirty at all.
